About the Pool Deck Sealer Kit

The Pool Deck Sealer is a deep penetrating sealer that provides a barrier against water penetration, moisture, staining, deterioration and minor household spills. This non-slick sealer creates a barrier against water absorbing into the concrete and will protect the concrete from spalling, which is when chunks of concrete break away from the concrete structure. Moisture will not be absorbed and water will bead up rather than soak into the concrete. It penetrates the concrete substrate and chemically bonds itself. Our sealer is long lasting and can be reapplied with ease.

Concentrated Form

The Pool Deck Sealer is sold in concentrated form. Mixing the sealer with warm water allows for an easy application. Buying the sealer in a concentrated form gives you an advantage over pre-mixed sealers because you are able to use warm water which will help to open up the capillaries of the concrete.

Product Comparison

Leading retailers products do not offer the long lasting protection, are not deep penetrating and reapplication is not always easy.  Other retailers also sell their product in non-concentrated form which means 2 things. First, since theirs is already mixed you are paying mostly for water. Second, since theirs is already mixed you do not have the ability to use warm water which is what helps open up the capillaries of the concrete.

Uses / Coverage

This sealer will work on anything concrete such as pool decks, driveways, garage floors and sidewalks. If you have issues like spalling, a chalky surface or an inferior concrete pour then this product is for you. This gallon of sealer needs to be mixed with four gallons of warm water. Once mixed, the sealer can cover 1,000-2,000 square feet. The 1,000-2,000 square foot coverage is dependent upon how porous the surface area is. Typically, newer concrete (10-15 years old) is less porous (which means it absorbes less), so you will require less.

The sealer should only be applied to virgin concrete that has not been painted or chemically treated with any other product. If the forecast predicts rain within at least 12 hours then wait to apply. Do not apply if temperature is below 40 degrees. It cannot be applied if it has a chance to freeze. Do not apply to freshly poured concrete. Allow it to cure for 28 days.

A minimum amount of prep work is needed. To prepare surface being treated clean area thoroughly with compressed air or vacuum.You cannot paint over it and maintenance may be required every 3-5 years depending on the traffic the area gets. If water hits the concrete and it darkens, reapply. Reapplication of sealer is needed if concrete darkens after getting wet. Drying time is 24 hours.
